I've actually posted a real post!

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted a real post. So I finally have put ‘The Quirks of the Pau girls’ on the back burner and have started my latest post.

I’ll begin telling you what I wanted to be when I was six years old… It sounded fun and exciting to me then.

Now I’d die having to do all the schooling required.

So what was it the career…?

A nurse

I was only six and as all of you know your mind changes constantly while you’re young. So need I say I don’t wish to become a nurse anymore? Nurses are very much needed in the world but I can say without a doubt I have not been called to become a nurse.

I have a lot of dreams and wishes, some perhaps would be a side career.

My main goal is to become a singer

Not just any singer though. I don’t want to sing in such a way that would ruin my voice. I’d love to sing traditional and classical songs. Think along the lines of Celtic Woman only with a slightly more classical twist.

I first wanted to become a singer when I was maybe 12 years old. I remember Mary Lynn Van Gelderen (I can’t remember how to spell her name. I hope I have it written correctly) singing at our church and being inspired to sing like her. Her voice was pretty and sweet.

I remember telling my dad that I wanted to be a singer but he didn’t know that I was serious.

Why I want to become a singer

I found that I enjoy singing so much that practice is not really practice and that’s how it should be when you are at work. You should enjoy what you do. Some people might disagree but to be truly successful you need to enjoy what you do. Otherwise you’ll end up quitting or hating your job so much that you don’t work that hard. (So naturally, you won’t get far.)

My goal in a career of singing

It might sound cheesy or cliché but my reason is ‘Too bring others joy.’I really enjoy listening to music. Certain music really just inspires me to become a singer and let other enjoy the wonders of music.

If I listed every dream/goal I have I’d go on forever.

I’ll be brief and list some more careers I’d see myself really enjoying.

Other Main Career Ideas:

Make-up Artist ~ I find that make-up is a type of art. You combine colors and textures to help fashion a beautiful picture.

Writer and Illustrator ~ I enjoy writing as it allows me to express what I feel, illustrating the books only makes it all the more fun.

Fashion Designer ~ I find that the need for a creative yet modest fashion designer is very large. I think I could help fill in the gap.

Beauty Consultant ~I would love to be someone that people come to asking for advice about beauty, whether it is about skin care, make-up, hair coloring and fashion style.

Side/or Maybe Just Unrealistic Career Ideas:

Concert Pianist ~ I’ve always enjoyed the piano and although I’m far behind the serious piano players my age, I think that if I truly wanted to I could actually become a Concert Pianist.

Foot Model ~ I know it sounds strange, but I think that’d be a good way to make money as a model without having to wear revealing clothes. ;)

Lastly but not least as a career… sort of a career… it’s not really a career…never mind just keep reading.

Wife/Mother ~ I’m very tempted to just do a short description like this but I’ll be nice to you all and go into more detail.

(I do want to say that I want to be a wife before I’m a mother)

Okay here goes nothing

I think 99% of all girls around the world dream about finding prince charming. (Or in my case king charming) princes have fun, but kings have the all the gold.

Maybe I should start by mentioning that I want a house that is over 10,000 sq feet. (Dad just said 10,000 sq feet is way too big.) But I mean I’ll have maids to take care of the cleaning and house work so that I could enjoy the place. O_O

I know this goes against architectural ways of designing houses but I’d like to have huge rooms each from different time periods.

I’d like from nice castle styled rooms and then all the way to modern.

One room I remember seeing in Klutz hair book was a room like you’d find in Mr. Darcy’s house. (Pride and Prejudice) I’d really love a room like that! (Although I think Mom mentioned it would be really cold…hmmm)

Okay enough of going off topic back to Wife/Mother

I don’t really have a lot to say about this subject but I will mention I’m not planning to (at least as of now) get married for about 10 more years.

I’ll still be under 30 so I figure I’ll fine.

Some of you might be screaming why on earth wait?!

Well firstly I need to learn more homemaking skills.

I can cook. (Believe it or not)

Also I need to work harder in the area of *coughs* diligently doing my chores.

Also I find that I’d like to become a singer and I don’t think leading a married life while being a singer would be wise.

Once I’m married I’d like to devote more time to that life.

(DOES NOT MEAN I WILL QUIT SINGING ONCE I’M MARRIED, I plan to sing until I die) I only mean that I wouldn’t sing as career. I’d still love to sing for church and maybe small concerts, just nothing big time, like flying around the world giving concerts.

Let me just list the qualifications my husband must have and then I’ll finish this boring blog post

Most important qualifications:

1. Born again Christian! (That’d be the most import) he must have a strong desire to serve the Lord with his whole heart.

2. He must also be approved by my parents. (I mean if my parents tell me and him no then that is that.)

3. Also he should have a love for music. (I mean… I’m a singer!)

4. Preferably he should be taller than me.

With that said and explained (at least somewhat) well just make a nice long list.

(Your eyes are about to get tired, taking a break would be recommended. Those that don’t take a break may suffer headaches, nausea, or may find their eye sight dimming. In case of Emergency call 911)

Other Qualifications that would be wonderful in a man:

Asian! (Being Asian isn’t a quality… but it’s something I’d would really like)

Good character, Great hygiene, musical talent, health conscious, He must love ice-cream though, aptitude for computers, have a good fashion sense (are else be willing to learn good fashion sense from me), no control freaks please (No pushovers either), likes pets (not cats though, I’m deathly allergic), at least a small sense of humor, great work ethic (I need money for that huge mansion. Oh boy, I’m so selfish), (I must say I really love what money can get and it’s probably going to be my demise. (Yes I admit it) But I will say that I am happy right now without the mansion. I just think it’d be really fun.)

I do have a lot more of qualifications but I couldn’t find the paper that they were on. (So if you could image about 10 or so more that would be about it.)

I wish I could have taken more time to write this but as it is I’m lazy.

Our Christmas... pile...

I took the picture right after lunch. I think the tree looks stocked.

I just took this picture and I asked Mom and Elizabeth if we had all the presents wrapped.
They replied very tiredly "No."

We've all been wrapping presents all day today and yesterday.
Some are a little tired of it but I mean it means there's more gifts for everyone!!! :D

P.S. It was noted by Joanna that the pictures don't show what it really looks like. It looks as if there should be at least 50 more.... I agree.
You guys need to see it.

Very Hard

Does anyone know how hard it is to write posts?
Seriously... I've been trying and trying to get the Quirks of the Pau Girls done, but its rather hard as I need their help getting this all done. (bluh)
If this next post a few months late don't be surprised.

Fond regards,

THE BROKEN WINDOW

(This is a commercial before the Quirk Post)
This might seem long or boring but it's a MUST READ!
You can only complain after reading the whole thing through.

LET US begin with the simplest illustration possible:
let us, emulating Bastiat, choose a broken pane of
glass.
A young hoodlum, say, heaves a brick through the window
of a baker's shop. The shopkeeper runs out furious,
but the boy is gone. A crowd gathers, and begins to stare
with quiet satisfaction at the gaping hole in the window
and the shattered glass over the bread and pies. After a
while the crowd feels the need for philosophic reflection.
And several of its members are almost certain to remind
each other or the baker that, after all, the misfortune has
its bright side. It will make business for some glazier. As
they begin to think of this they elaborate upon it. How
much does a new plate glass window cost? Fifty dollars?
That will be quite a sum. After all, if windows were never
broken, what would happen to the glass business? Then,
of course, the thing is endless. The glazier will have $50
more to spend with other merchants, and these in turn
will have $50 more to spend with still other merchants,
and so ad infinitum. The smashed window will go on providing
money and employment in ever-widening circles.
The logical conclusion from all this would be, if the crowd
drew it, that the little hoodlum who threw the brick, far
from being a public menace, was a public benefactor.
Now let us take another look. The crowd is at least right
in its first conclusion. This little act of vandalism will in
the first instance mean more business for some glazier. The
glazier will be no more unhappy to learn of the incident
than an undertaker to learn of a death. But the shopkeeper
will be out $50 that he was planning to spend for
a new suit. Because he has had to replace a window, he
will have to go without the suit (or some equivalent need
or luxury). Instead of having a window and $50 he now
has merely a window. Or, as he was planning to buy the
suit that very afternoon, instead of having both a window
and a suit he must be content with the window and
no suit. If we think of him as a part of the community,
the community has lost a new suit that might otherwise
have come into being, and is just that much poorer.
The glazier's gain of business, in short, is merely the
tailor's loss of business. No new "employment" has been
added. The people in the crowd were thinking only of two
parties to the transaction, the baker and the glazier. They
had forgotten the potential third party involved, the tailor.
They forgot him precisely because he will not now enter
the scene. They will see the new window in the next day
or two. They will never see the extra suit, precisely because
it will never be made. They see only what is immediately
Visible to the eye.
